Did a check on back links and found one my my sites listed. But when i cliced the link, it wasn't there. Figure it's a data center problem or something.

Well it looks like that your site was removed from the directory.

Also google uses the DMOZ directory feed.

Yesterday I found several cases where a search for a URL in the Google Directory shows a listing and description but when you go to the category in the G.Directory - it's not there. I've seen this before, it seems sometimes when they do an update they do it in stages and it's incomplete until the update is finished.

Same thing is happening with one of our sites. It was listed in dmoz (2 weeks amazingly) google chache date of it's directory page is now after the point when the site was added to dmoz. A search of the google directory shows the site, but the site is not listed in the category yet. Originally I was thinking it was because it missed the last pr update and doesn't have any green yet. I thought that something would happen on the next pr update or the directory pr update.

It will be interesting to see what effect the odp will have on sandbox and rankings.

Hang on here, I think you might have misunderstood how the directory works Google doesnt add sites to the directory from spidering, it updates it from the DMOZ RDF periodically.

That would make sense. Then the cache date doesn't mean much in this case.
I just found a couple of sites that are in google directory that don't have any pr yet to. I was totally wrong about what's going on.

In a related issue, one of my sites has been showing PR6 (or maybe PR5) in the Google Directory for over a month now but it's still PR4 on all the regular datacenters.

I have no idea what the PR value in the Directory means any more.

That's true, but we are talking about the Google directory, which has no connection with the ODP search function.
