    I thought i would signup for a skype account today...
    all of a sudden, i find myself signing up via microsoft = fail!

    Now I find myself having a skype profile, but wait, no user name, so i
    start looking around a little more, low and behold, I was given some
    strange odd looking skype username, makes no sense at all....

    Wouldnt you know it...
    Microsoft screwed up skype!

    So does skype assign usernames now?

    Skype and Microsoft are together. If you want to create your Skype username get the skype from skype.com and go to don`t have a Skype name and there you can create your Skype username...

    Also you can login on Skype with your Microsoft (Outlook.com) username. :)
