Absolutely YES, in my opinion. I have been using myspace for a longer period of time. Once I started using facebook and twitter, I just quit myspace. So in my personal opinion it is YES.
Yes. Myspace has definitely been killed by facebook and such. I've been using facebook daily for the past 6 months.
I completely agree. I didn't know we were talking in terms of advertising, I thought we were just talking was it worth creating a profile. No I wouldn't advertise on My Space, but creating a free profile couldn't hurt.
I would say it has, just look at the alexa rankings, ive been using rankbook.com automation softare to build up everything on my facebook accounts.
I do not think facebook or twitter killed myspace - I think was the security issues with allowing people to post html code. Over the past 6 months I have seen more computers get infected with malware at myspace, then I have seen in the past 3 or 4 years. It seems that certain myspace users were setting up attack pages that installed malicious software. And myspace did nothing to stop it. On top of that, the amount of code that some people put on their profiles took forever to load. People were making pages with flashing backgrounds, music, too many videos,,,,,. It got to where myspace was no fun to visit.
I think that we'll see Facebook and Twitter decline in a few years' time. They all seem to have limited lifespan before something else comes along to replace them.
If this is the case, wouldn't you like to be that guy that comes up with the replacement? Shawn, the DP owner says it all the time- do something different and off the scale...but as a pioneer in the market.
Facebook and Twitter seem to be marketing their websites better to businesses. More apps seem to integrate with Facebook than MySpace. If the person is looking to use one of these social media sites for business, then Facebook is far better than MySpace.
It hasn't been killed off, just relegated to it's rightful place because of the rise of good competition.
While the style a person choses to socially connect on differs between individuals I don't think that Myspace is a alternative to Facebook or vice versa. If people out there are using their Facebook quite good then they are masters at it but this in no terms downsizes the impact Myspace has. To make your self visible out there nothing is 'outdated'
that is very interesting that you brought this up, myspace is most deffinately dieing out, and it kinda sucks becuz i thought the adspace there would help but they are dwindleing now
