The day before yesterday a client walked into the offices and asked whether one of our sites had been lifted from the 'sandbox'. Not sure what that really means to be truthful, but it did prompt me to find out how many sites Google had in fact indexed. To my astonishment, I saw that the site now has 6,490 inbounds in 'contain the term' for "www.soho-properties.com". However, when I clicked on the last page of the links it shows 253. By clicking on the penultimate page, it fluctuated back to 6,410, then again from here the final page showed 253. I tried it again today and it's still the same. This also means that the site's main search terms are fluctuating between being nowhere and the front page. Any ideas?
Maybe so, but it's the fluctuation. It shows all 250 odd. But the point is why does it show over 6,000 as the total?
Can you post a link? Most likely you are querying different data centers - this will always give different results.
