My indexed pages are decreasing. I don't make any changes except add new posts and create some backlinks. still can't find how it can be.

Maybe you need to check your robots.txt and see if you didn't partially blocked google from indexing

Google is indexing (and shuffling) faster than ever. With the right technique you should be able to get any page indexed in less than a week, sometimes even within a day.

With new sites, Google may only index the homepage and nothing else for quite a while. However this is not the case if it was an expired domain. I bought an expired domain earlier this month (expired for 11 months) and it was indexed within a week. But all my new domains (never expired or dropped) only has the homepage indexed.

About a month ago I found that Google was not indexing my new pages for some reasons. Some of these sites were like 6 years old and used to get indexed with an hour. I just continued updating content and submitting sitemaps through webmaster tools. It has started indexing all within the past week or so.

Using and submitting an rss feed ( if you have a blog or news site ) to technorati and others gets pages indexed almost instantly is my experience. Plenty of backlinks should do the trick anyhow.

Google has to constantly index and update its database to cover all possible information on the web for it to give out good search result. I wonder what made you think that it would stop doing its core activity?
