Has google personally acted on your spam report?

Have you submitted a spam report through google webmaster(as a registered user) and has google actually acted on your report? I have a feeling most of the time they don't read them. Be interested to see how many have actually witnessed google remove a site or penalize one after submitting a spam report.

How long did you wait though? Maybe you needed more time.

Those report forms are joke,no matter what you reporting,it will always stay ignored. For example it is well know fact how sites which are in top 10 for almost every major adult keywords there because they bought tons of hardlinks which is not allowed by google.I could do same but i am simply a guy who follow rules.

I'm sure Google recieves a lot of them and doesn't have time to recieve them all. I've submitted a few and never recieved a response either so that is my guess.

I think that rather than act on each report, Google will look at it and adjust the algorithm based on a number of reports to try and improve. I could buy a load of paid links for my competitor at the end of the day and report them, Google must take this into consideration to not unfairly punish sites.

Yeah or I could spam a bunch of sites and report them. Thats why Ive always thought Google ignores spam reports.

However, if you are reporting that the site is a doorway page with cut n paste content from the affiliate site and just affiliate links with no unique content or review, don't you think Google could nab them then? After all a competitor can't touch your actual website.

I doubt it since first off google doesn't accept written letters for general spam reports. Second they wouldn't be able to tabulate (know) more than one person has complained about the same website. If anything, theyd probably make a joke at the office about someone going to all the effort over a lame spam report.

before they had the report they had this other form (didn't require login) where you could report it. I used that once and I noticed a page get booted within the same week. It was clear they acted on my report - it was for this page that was really spammy, picture a parked page with ppc ads + stolen content + a whole whack of doorway pages.

They still have the registered one. But they don't read that one anymore I believe. How long ago did you do this? I think they are too backlogged now to act unless the site is really shady.
