Has google become worse after Panda update

Discussion in 'Google' started by Anderson21, Jun 14, 2011.

Relatively huge number of quality websites owners have reported huge drop in ranking in the SERP according to google's own forum at

    google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/label?lid=41234c84d9491af8&hl=en

Scraping sites ranking higher than the quality website has become rampant. And there are not isolated issues. Matt Cutt has admitted it.

Is this the beginning of the end of google ?

I dont agree to the statement above.
Mainly because after the Panda Update I have improve my traffic rankings almost double. The reason is what I have discovered that Google has been stressing on trashing websites with copied content / duplicates and content farms, so I kinda have a feeling that Google is doing even better!

    cheers

Your site may be one of the sites that are not affected, but, if you visit the google forum you will find a huge list of quality forums affected

Yes Thats True, Almost 80% of Sites Lost Traffic Due to Panda update and huge drop of SERP also provides major drop of traffic influx. But After Panda Update still doorway pages and clocking can be seen.. Even Google Representative also admits that Panda is not upto desired standard.. This update can be caused damaged for Google..

anyway, after the google panda update, a lot of sites were affected. we shouldn't be relax if we were not affected by it, the only thing we should do is still try to optimize the sites by white hat method.

Probably not, the improvement in some areas merely made up for the decline in others.

I don't think so! Google is still getting power as the search service develops. Google Panda is just a new kind detecting way of search engine .

Well, for some reason panda update have effected lots of sites. And as what the engineers of google said that its the algorithm that decide whether a certain site is authoritative or not. Google admit that the panda is not that furnish to weigh in sites. So they are ironing things out for it.

Google panda basically focus on duplicate content and unfortunately forum is the place that have more "duplicate" content because admin are not able to check individual post made by the member. Google panda is actually a good move, it reduce the effect from seo and increase the effect of the content. Of course, it is still not perfect and further action/update will be taken

    Hi
I am not agree with this point because everyone knows that time to time google make a change in algorithm. this time google make a change in algorithm with the name of Panda, this is totally related to the content. so the website which is not using the google guidelines are effected by this update. so we can not say that this is the end of Google.

Define "quality". If you mean sites that most DP users create, then that's pure garbage. Saying "the end of google" because garbage sites don't make the cut is ridiculous. Google continues to be the most used search engine on the planet and rightly so.

If you're talking to me then you're absolutely right! I have a "quality site". That is, my sites are real businesses that sell real products and contain real information. Not sites that's sole purpose is to get people to click on ads and nothing else. Those are garbage sites.

It is not about defining etc. Check the google forum. A huge number of decent sites have been affected. For example amitbhawani's blog has been affected. Just imaging copying two lines from a famous blogger site ranking higher.

Let us dump google and use bing and yahoo.

I don't really understand Google Panda. It's obvious that not the most desired outcome was achieved and Google's algorithm still needs work overall, but I'd hardly call it the end of Google.
