Does anyone else think that Google is becoming evil? "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely"
I dont know if evil is the word. But they have some practices i dont like. Seems like they are saving every bit of info everywhere. I know they never delete any emails, even when you delete it they still save it. Also google has a 411 service and in the begining they say this call is being recorded. why would they need to record you asking for a phone number somewhere...411 doesnt do that...if they do, they just dont say they do.... I think its all fishy..
I would say they are evil rather I would say they have become very aggressive with their marketing strategy. Google gets me good traffic to my sites, free gmail and lot more. I am happy with Google so far.
They are not evil, they are just out to make money. They became a large company and instead of sitting on their past accomplishments, they are choosing to become bigger by dominating the areas they choose to enter into. This is the American way of life and we at the bottom of the food chain always envy those at the top. They are no more or less evil than any other large corporation. The point is to make a profit and they have proven they are capable of doing that. Their main focus is not to play nice, it is to make money and if you call them evil for that reason, you need to look at your definition of evil. If given the choice, would anyone of us turn down the chance to be number one in our chosen market?
Of course they're not evil. Being business-savvy and being evil are two different things. Don't forget Google's motto.
I really don't care either way but can understand why honest webmasters think this. Over the last 2 years Google has been forced to crank it up. There are many dishonest webmasters that are the cause of 0 tolerance algos. Google is also always trying to improve search results to the end user which also contributes to sites falling off the map. The only part of search algos that I feel is unfair and perhaps EVIL is no accountabilty...one day your site is doing great in SERPS the next day it's gone. Morally I have a problem with that. Matt Cutts tries to give some insights but I don't trust him. Lies to Webmasters site: link: Query data What do they do with it. Recent surveys conducted state that roughly 62% of internet users don't trust any Ses. I personally like using social networks to get answers to tough questions. Google imposes a trust rank value to every domain. At some point there is a threshold where search engine data may not be accurate to a user. It would seem fair to me that we ask the same question...do we trust Google? H
Google is fine by me. Their Adsense affiliate program pays me every month on time. They deliver great traffic to my website. I never have any problems with GMail. They spider my blog all of the time and get me on page one for my primary keyword in each blogpost in 24-48 hours. Yea, I still love Google!
Nope Google is not evil. They run things just as any multi-million or billion comapny does their business.
Google may not be evil (yet) buy sure does like world domination ! Google want to control information of any and evry kind !
Google has not become evil, sometimes i think google is doing wrong but next moment everything is going good.........Everything google do is right we all are dependent on google
If you keep aside their records other than being a Search Engine..then definitely its good! I wonder why people would ever think that Google is evil. So far, Google has been very helpful in everything I want to know/others too. It may be a bit extreme in wanting to catalog every single piece of information that exists, but it has been very helpful to me when trying to find information online or when trying to get visitors to my clients websites. well google is evil in the sense that they are quickly buying out every up and coming competitor ...but in terms of search rankings they're doing fine - it's their program, we're the ones at fault. We depend too much on Google as a provider, we use them for traffic and for monetization ...too many eggs in one little basket.
