    Weirfire,
I"m really glad to hear that you've gotten business from DP. The biggest concern that I've always had with online forums is the anonymity of it all. Sometimes, it can be hard to know who you can trust.

I do moderate my own online business networking forum, but there is alot more trust built into it because of how the forums are built. Full bio, pics, job titles, previous resumes and such. I wasn't neccesarily looking for business from other members. I'm probably more interested in outsourcing certain future projects though.

Hey Driven, I know what you mean about the anonymity. I always get emails from people asking me if I have extra work that I might like to outsource to them. There's no way I would give any work to some stranger that just emailed me asking for stuff.

I'm always looking for extra work so feel free to send me a PM if you have anything. There's lots of people here now that can give you a reference lol

You'd be surprised ;). I've had both guys and girls from DP shop at my stores.

Okay, okay, the guys bought belt buckles, not lingerie ;)

Yes, I've had more PCdoctor subscribers, some of whom related that it was because they saw my sig here.

    Thanks DP.

There are other boards where I'm much more pc about what I write because I do get business from them. It's a networking thing. Digital Point is my place to chill and be silly (but hopefully make some great connections). I like that it's not all about "white papers" and research here.

When I have extra projects or need help, DP is the first place I look.

I would say DP has saved me money, having bought Optigold some 5 or 6 years ago!

I have gotten some great new affiliates for all the affiliate programs we manage, but more importantly feel like I have made some friends.

Yes! Indeed DP had brought me business, I came to the forums for the co-op network, but now I'm reading lots of tips how to increase ctr, get more sales out of websites and more. I got in touch with various DP members and exhanged several things! :)

Well there you go.. See the beauty of the Coop.... Someone asks if DP brings you business, and someone says, DP saved me money with a product they make, and someone says, hey, I need a product like that... So now DP benefits from DP.

    Time for beer!

My beautiful models are not for sale! ;) If you are talking about my site template, I bought it for $100 a couple of years ago from http://ecommercetemplates.com/ (and it was worth every penny).

From day one, I was contacted by new customers. I also bumped into several existing ones here. I immediately knew I was in the right forum.

I will add it pays not to be overtly commercial. Don't rush trying to secure new business. Contribute first.

    re: new business.

Really? You've been here just as long as I have and you've already gotten new customers. Good to hear.

I agree about contributing first. Give first and get later- good networking model as well. I spend more of my time on another online business networking forum and moderate a couple networks. I just come here for knowledge sharing.

By the way, you can still network offline too. There are still other ways to bring in new business besides online forums. I host a montly business mixer in my area and I always meet new business professionals all the time and make new friends as well.

DP has brought me business, that business actually being increased traffic. I dont sell anything at my site, as everything I offer is free, but I have benefitted by the ad revenue to the point where the site actually pays for itself now.

I still have alot to learn from what this site has to offer (being a complete uneducated newbie in webmastering), but for something that I am starting out as a part time thing, I feel I am doing very well.

For the most part, this site is wonderful, the free tools are great, and there are a ton of helpful people I have met via this site.
