Has Domain Tasting killed the Expired Domains?

With registrars tasting every expired and dropped domain, does it even make any sense to scan the expired domains once they become available? I say YES, but do not expect any amazing finds. I was able to flip some two-word ".coms", but the majority of the ones that looked good to me at the time I picked them up, I am still sitting on...
The highest grossing sales that I have generated from the expired domains (high $xxx) went to the ... previous owners, who decided that they wanted to re-open their businesses.
    Any opinions?

I think it's still worth it to scan the expired domains. There are always some decent domains they don't get.

still some gems out there, just hard to find and you really have to know what you're after. some domains if they even get a few hits per year can be profitable in the right niche.

Even with the application of my filter, yesterday alone there were 17,578 '.com' numberless and dashless domains. How do you go through that in a couple of minutes?! But I do agree that it is worth the effort for the most part. Just don't expect to retire from the drops

Yes it's definitely profitable if you find end users, for example a domain i listed here i couldn't sell for $30 and a few days later i got contacted by a company who gave me low $x,xxx and a copy of their corporate software also worth low $x,xxx

Glad nobody took that at BIN. I've had a stack of $xxx sales of domains that don't sell here at low $xx, people here just don't seem to realize opportunities of buying a cheap domains and flipping it at 10 times what they paid in just a few days by contacting end users.

Going through Google and finding end users is time consuming, but very profitable.

Another one with backlinks i couldn't sell here for $25, i've just put a site up on it and have earnt $4.78 in Adsense in 30 hours.

So yes you can make good money.

What are some companies that still do domain name tasting?

There are still many very good names offered when expired and you just have to know what you are looking for a be quick. I haven't registed any for a few months but I doubt a lot has changed since and I was able to get hold of some quite reasonable dot com's from expired lists.
