I am referring to the service offered by http://www.safemailservices.com.

I liked the idea that they have ways to reach out to millions of users that are opted-in their system.

Anyone had any experience using their system? or similar services?

I don't believe that they have over 96 million double-opt-in recipients who "have asked to be included in our safe-list." LOL.

I don't think it's possible for them to have an opt-in list of 96 million. What they probably meant was that their service sents out 3.1 million emails a day, and 96 million emails a month. That is all.

Some of the largest safelists on the web have maybe 300k to 800k opt-in lists, and are usually not very active. I use Ipostads.com, which is a $10 a month network of safelists 3400+, and about 3.4 million recipiants. But a lot of that are duplicates, and people usually have a separate email in which they register to receive those spams. I am registered with 2800 safelists and receive about 20,000 emails a day, needless to say 99.99% of that I don't read before deleting them. Don't expect miracles with it, I'd be lucky if I can get maybe 10 people to signup for my free classified ads site. On average, I get maybe 1 signup for my free classified ads site jihoy.com per every 300k to 1.5 millions emails sent to list emails in large networks.

Safelists also have a paid option (contact solo ads), in which you send the email to the contact email rather than list email. That might be cheaper alternative to adwords. I usually don't pay more than $10 per every 10,000 sent. And if you run into those big network safelists, response rate is dismally low. So far, some of the responsive ones, like Gotsafelist, Adsolution, Herculist, Cash4Usafelist are free to join, and they have okay response rate (1 signup per every 100,000+ list emails sent for me). Contact emails I get maybe 1 signup per 1000 to 5000 emails send.

I spend maybe 30 minutes a day sending out those mails and maybe another 30 minutes to click on ads for credits to send out more. It's more for amusement purpose only, until my SERP from article submissions begans to improve, email marketing can provide a short term cheap advertising, but not really scalable for me anymore.

People join safelists to send THEIR solo ads, not to read YOUR solo ads. There are also automatic pieces of software that subscribe you, confirm your membership and ... delete the JUNK (the solo ads) daily ...

Why don't you try ezine advertising? People subscribe to the ezines to READ what's there. This is a big difference between ezines and safelists.
