Hi I moved your post to it's own thread as it didn't really belong in the domain discussion. Websites are sold everyday at DigitalPoint - check out this forum: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52
I've never personally made a sale here at dp although it obviously does happen. It really depends on the type of website you're trying to sell. I've had much more success over at sitepoint. It does however cost to list your website for sale but you always seem to get a much better response.
I've sold a few complete websites here at DP. I would say it is a very good market, since the user base is so large, there is usually a match for anything your willing to sell. Prices within reason.
The market is good enough. I only sold 1 website and it worked well. I've also sold blog posts and the market was much better than expected
Ive sold a number of sites, and yes, its a good market for website valued at $2000 or less. http://www.sitepoint.com is also a great place to buy / sell websites, however it isnt free to list.
you are new thats why you are asking such a question . Marketplace is good enough and websites are being sold / purchased in " Sites " section here at DP . Again , Marketplace is good enough and while dealing you can check the Itrader of the person with whom you are dealing to get an idea . Btw .. Welcome to forum
I'm also interested, what about trust among users? I want to sell one big website here, hopefully for $$$$ - I can accept 2co credit card payments, is that possible? at 2co I also need 24 hours to check for validity of the card, and only after that I'll hand in all the assets - does that sound okay? I'm just worried not to get scammed :S
Yeah sitepoint is where ya go for getting the most for your sites. DP is more critical..IMO when it comes down to business over the internet.
You can protect yourself to an extent, by checking out their iTrader, post count and reputation here on the forums. Although, for that price I would recommend using some sort of escrow.
List your site for sale here, but I would concentrate on sitepoint for a site $XXXX or higher. Good luck.
Escrow is great if you want a way to protect yourself. Also, you can use a western union sort of program.
Selling website in DP forum is one of my preferred ways I think 80% of my sites are sold here for the last few months
from my experience dp is pretty good cuz of the voume of ppl looking on here and cuz its free to post sale sites
