Should i overwrite files when upgrading to 3.2?install trouble ok i have the phpld 3.2 upgrade files. Now the instructions say i need to upload to my server, but when i upload them,it asks me do i want to replace the current files. Should i say yes? eg. on my server i have a folder called Public_html,and inside this folder is all phpld3.1.0 files and folders likes ADMIN,Documentation,Templates etc. Now the Phpld 3.2 files are EXACTLY the same. So if i copied the phpld 3.2 ADMIN folder onto my server,it already detects the phpld 3.1.0 earlier version, and asks me if i want to replace this. Is is okay to replace it? Or shall i go into my server, and DELETE all the phpld3.1.0 folders like admin, templates,BACKUP then copy the new files? But then i'll lose everything right? What should i dO?
yes just overwrite the 3.1 files then run the install this will ugrade your database to 3.2 and all will be fine
I doubt it will be fine if mods are installed. So first answer this question. Do you have any mods installed on your directory?
no mods installed. But where is the phpld database stored? because if i over-right all the files how is it ment to remember my old database? Or is the database stored in the mysql or sumthing?
DB is stored in mysql. So no need to worry about that. Simply overwrite all the files and run the installation. Don't forget to backup all your files though.
Backup everything, .sql, files, images, etc. Delete all files if you have no other sites in the host. Update phpld v3.2, then install it. Done That's what I did when upgrade to v3.2
Do I have to install all mods again, from scratch, if I upgrade to 3.2? Will the installation overwrite all files?
I have category sponsor, deep links, SE friendly link details page, additional field, image upload and was going to install today an alternate payment, but I think I will hold on with that option for now.
I think all these have done a modification on template, just upgrade the template, everything would work.
So is the upgrade mostly a database upgrade? I did modify database when I added additional pricing plans. Forgot about that one.
The database would not be changed by upgrade from my experience. All you should do is a small change on the template.
Velocity,I wouldn't recommend you do the upgrade. It will take you a few hours to get everything worked I guess.Furthermore there ain't many new features in the latest version...
