I am kind of sick and tired of working on this blog.It is one of my passions and despite the hard effort I am making pennies with Adsense.Maybe it's a language thing.Adsense is worth using only on English sites.
Pretty much, yes. If it's in french or spanish then consider a loss of 60% for adsense revenue as opposed to english. If its another language than expect 75% - 90% less than it in english. Its not only about the money you make per click being low, its also the visitor base it lower to. There is just way more english speaking people on the internet.
Well yes, in french it's easier to rank better than in english, for me.. Yes there are less people on the web searching in french, but there's also a lot less competition between webmasters. And the CPC is not bad. Now if you're talking about greek, that will be another story. But sites in german and languages of somewhat rich countries can bring in enough money form a one-guy publisher point of view.
I dont think language has something to do with your income,,you just have to drive traffic to your website.just my 2 cents.
There are other languages and then there are other languages.. If you do a site in german, in japanese or something like that, languages used in rich countries (with lots of adwords advertizers), you'll earn good money, but not in languages where advertizers competition is low. Same goes for each niche within each language.
It really depend on what language you are talking about. I know many people are doing pretty good in Spanish
It depends on the subject Kitso. Most of my traffic is Greek. I see now at my adsense I have higher CPC and CTR in Greece than USA. Romanian, Indian etc is small but German, French etc is quite higher! But even Greek Comparing to English is better. The reason is simple. Everybody make English sites so there are MANY sites! So it is not because of the language in General , but as our market is small there are very few relevant ads with your subject. I opened your site from my Greek IP and I see ads about "web hosting" for example. your CTR must be really small isn't it? Έμπαινε Κίτσο!
I had a website that most traffic come from Poland and with about 15k uu daily I got $30 - $50. I don't know what is decent for you but that was quite good in my opinion for a non English country.
I think $5 RPM is correct, if you can get that minimum in your language, by playing with ctr and highest cpc topics then fine.
Just to share my experiences. I got a website in croatian, and I have 600-700 UV daily and about 1300 pageviews. Earnings are miserable, and I can barely earn for a beer daily. But I have a website in English with totally unrelated content with my croatian site, and 10 times lesser visitors, and the earnings are the same. I think it is clear - adsense on non-english sites sucks big time !
If 5$ RPM is correct then I was wrong about languages. But how can you reach that? My interior design website in English for example (most traffic from USA) has just 1,2 $ RPM and 0,22 cpc and the subject is supposed to be high cpc. HIghest RPM I have is in a German site about 3 $ and lowest at a Romanian I had bought here at dp with just 0,13 $ RPM.
