Has Anyone Noticed a Drop In Google Adwords Traffic?

I have been observing my adwords traffic recently and have found a decrease in the impressions / clicks this month. To increase click through rate, and conversion, I have pushed many of my keywords into the top 2 spots, yet still the resulting conversion rate is low. Is it because everyone is not shopping online during the holiday season?

Maybe its dependant on what you are promoting? Something less sought after near christmas.

I have noticed this as well. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that another "algorithm update" is in the works right now.

Which niche are you in? Every niche - indeed, every keyword - is different. No-one can tell you why your traffic or conversions have dropped, especially since you haven't even revealed your niche.

In fact, it's better that you didn't disclose your niche. Keep it to yourself. Master it. Use Google Trends to investigate temporal search trends related to it.

Also you can use Google keyword tool to see the search trends over 12 months...

just pick 'show search volume trends' from the 'Choose columns to display' menu.

Yes they seem to be sloshing around in a Holiday direction.

if you're selling holiday cookies, your conversion should be high. 'Holiday season'. The word makes me melt...
If only the profits would have the same effect on me.
I haven't noticed a drop in impressions. Although CTR has slightly dropped. but such fluctuations happen

I'm in the B2B space, and I've definitely noticed a drop in AdWords traffic as of 12/1. In fact, it's so much worse that even though my AdWords impressions are 75% higher than they were last month, because the CTR is down a third, and this lever carries a lot more weight than overall impressions do, I actually have fewer ad clicks than I did a month ago.

I have noticed quite a dramatic drop over the last two weeks.

My campaigns are Business 2 Business so the drop off is somewhat expected.

According to our Sys Admin (I work for a web design and hosting company) the traffic for non-retails stores that we host is down about 80% for December.

I wonder how much of this decrease in traffic can be associated with low worker productivity in December?

Somehow I doubt such a drastic change can be wholly blamed on the economy.

Statistics are showing that users are becoming more and more interested in the organic links now rather than the sponsored.

Hey launchplanet I would love to see those statistics.

Do you remember where you saw them?

I am very interested in the data for traffic trends of the overall market.

    Thanks.

Maybe a drop in the economy means less buyers
