In April 2022, I created my new real estate site using Wordpress. It had been awhile since using WordPress and I had to re-learn somethings. I have been using Thingamablog for my main business blogs, mainly for security. I like the control I have with Thingamablog. I am happy with my new WordPress (real estate) site, however I do a lot of web development work and have used it in the past. WordPress is more complicated than it used to be.
I totally get where you're coming from! WordPress can be time-consuming with all the plugins, themes, and maintenance required. If you're looking for a simpler alternative, you might consider platforms like Ghost, Medium, or even a static site generator like Hugo. They can be more straightforward and let you focus on writing instead of constant tweaking. It depends on what features you need, but sometimes a switch to a simpler platform can make all the difference!
Most people using wordpress as I wish to add content don't know what they are getting into. You can loose ranking if adding the wrong themed content. You need help moving a server. Then there is constant hacking attempts.
