I have several websites, 2 built with Wordpress, and I'm getting fed up with it. I'm spending too much time fiddling with WP to make it what I want, and not enough time writing posts. Does anyone else thinks the same way and has changed?
No. Don't even know what it is. An example of the things I don't like is the trouble to insert the code for an Adsense banner in the header.
I don't think so, just do some research you may be doing something wrong; most blogs are made via WP; so you need to study its composition. Best of luck!
I am an old school computer nerd. I have never used WordPress, and never will. I think it is so much easier to code a website yourself. Do a Google search for coding a website, and you will see how easy it is. Good Luck
I've tried other solutions, including free ones, but Wordpress still outranks them all. Worst case scenario, hire someone to assist with the issues that you're having. There's a lot of talent floating around online that can assist with doing that.
Completely disagree. Coding a website takes too much time and effort. That's not including the bugs and security issues that you'll have to deal with. Wordpress is tried and proven. There are regular updates. You cannot go wrong by going with Wordpress.
We think that anyone who complains about WP did not have a good motive. We personally recommend DIVI, it's a really good theme.
I think you missed something when you installed. This PDF will help you to manage the challenge you faced. https://www.tutorialspoint.com/wordpress/wordpress_tutorial.pdf
I am, all my business sites will be moving away as time allows. Security issues, problems with plugins and a rigid data structure. I don't like having to have custom post types and custom fields. Easier just to DIY unless the site is an actual blog or CMS but I don't usually work with those.
Absolutely100%!! Dumped it right after our blog got hacked thru WP blog plug-in. SEO plug-in produced inaccurate SEO code which was crawled and listed to SE in incorrect data. Built in page builder was corrupt and updates broke site code.
we convert wordpress to html5 for people fed up with Wordpress. Virus infections and such do that to you.
Wordpress is still one of the best solutions for blogging. I've tried blogger (blogspot), WIX before but I think WordPress is still the marketplace leader for blogging. Until a new solution comes up, I'll be sticking to WordPress but it doesn't help to look for alternative solutions.
From my experiences, Wordpress is slow and bloated. The big advantage is the huge amount of extensions. For just a basic blog I prefer to code myself the website with Flask Python and Bulma CSS framework.
WordPress is still a slow platform due to all the added plugins, bloated databases, and codebases. Today, page speed is critical for your site and it's one of the main reasons why many site owners are looking for new optimized cms that suit recent Google requirements.
Wordpress is fast af. It is the bloated - and frankly unnecessary - countless plugins noobs tend to install. then they come to forums like "wOrDPreSs iS sLoW". Keep plugins to an absolute minimum and use a fast theme like Astra or generatepress and you're golden.
I used wp long ago, when I was starting, didn't like it, and used plain html websites instead. Now, I coded a cms of my own, and am using it for all my websites. I'm not a good designer, so looks of my themes suck, but the cms itself stands strong. For design, I simply drop a logo image in the default theme coded for the cms. Check 2 examples here: https://mncguru.com/ and https://tbrjar.com/ Second one has some custom coded plugins loaded. First one is default setup, with some default features deactivated for that particular site.
