Has anyone here run their own affiliate program through Clickbank?

I still can't decide whether to host my own affiliate program or to use Clickbank to run my affiliate program. I just found a nice script at twsc.biz but I'm not sure whether it's the best choice. Has anyone here actually run their own affiliate program through Clickbank? Did you get good results?

ClickBank has two big advantages when it comes to affiliate programs:
    1) Lots of affiliates. You can get affiliates realtively easily.
    2) They handle all payment issues and affiliate issues. You just set up your product and ClickBank takes care of the rest.

I see this script costs half of ClickBank's cost. Now you just need to decide what you value more - your time or your money?

What fees does Clickbank charge to run your affiliate program other than the $50 setup fee and the processing fee when somebody makes a purchase?

They only charge the $50. The other fees are the 7.5% + $1 processing fee and the $2.5 check issue fee, but they're not only for publishers.

Wow! That's a pretty high fee for credit card processing. I think Paypal charges less than half of that. Plus they don't make it so easy for somebody to get a refund.

    Clickbank all the way..

I started using my own scripting with an affiliate section. Made OK sales for myself, but then decided to use clickbank. I'm glad I did so early on, as sales and affiliates came flowing in almost immediately.

I wouldn't be getting the turnout as I am now if I continued to use my own scripting

    Has to be Clickbank

Paypal may charge less for "processing fee" but do they expose your product to 100,000 affiliates?

I think it would be silly to use your own. Unless its a huge product people know about and everyone wants to sell. Clickbank means that affiliates you never even write a single e-mail to will be spending money on PPC for your product.

Clickbank fee is nothing compared to the extra sales you get. It saves you time so that you don't need to recruit affiliates or send their paychecks

You can promote all the products as an affiliate.
As a publisher, you can have one product per account.

Thanks for that info! I think I will try marketing the product using my own affiliate program. If things don't work I will test Clickbank in the future to see if it works as well as people say it does. I wish Clickbank's system didn't work through their payment system. Then you could accept payments through the credit card processor of your choice and still have a professional company to manage your affiliates.

That wont happen. Then clickbank would have to rely on you or your processor to pay them so they can pay affiliates and get their own piece. Would be silly of them. This way they have the money, dole out your share and your affs share and keep their piece.
