Has anyone heard of www.directmarketingoptin.com?

I bought a campaign from these guys a couple weeks ago directmarketingoptin.com and got zero results! here were my stats:

    Total Amount Sent: 300,000
    Total Amount Opened: 75,297
Total Clicks Received (CTR): 754 (View Most Recent)
    Failures: 63

I figured with 754 clicks that at least one person would sign into what I was promoting considering that it was free!!

could someone give me some feedback, and tell me if it is just me or is something wrong? Has anyone used this service before?

Is there a better company that someone could share with me for email marketing?

    Thanks
    Mark

These normally happens with these kind of sites. The main reason is that most of the optin lists in their blast list will be paid signups. So they are interested in the money only and rarely would like to go about any other offer even if it is free unless you pay them money for doing so. Dont waste your money with any such companies.

The only way is to grow your list manually using www.aweber.com or www.getresponse.com or any other list building tools.

Only people who trust you will join offers you promote

Sorry to hear about your results. I had a similar experience with them about 2 years ago. Got several hits but no sign ups. I don't think the hits were legitimate. You may have better results with listguy.com.

Before you dismiss the company, maybe you should consider a few other things.

I looked at the site you mentioned and it looks like you spent less than $50 for the campaign. Certainly not a large amount of money to "test". I don't think you'll find another company who will do it any cheaper. At that price it's worth running 3-4 campaigns and changing up the copy and landing pages to get a better feel for what works. Any type of advertising is hit or miss...with 700 clicks to a relatively "non-tartgeted" list...you just may get zero response.

It's very possible that the offer just wasn't strong. No offense but just because someone clicks a link doesn't mean they are going to fork out their email address for a freebie.

In order to give you some feedback, I'd need to look at the landing page that the link was sending your visitors to. If you provided that I'm sure you could get a lot better feedback as to why the campaign was a bust.

I ran a test with this site using the 700,000 email package. I had around 900 clicks. I also ordered the package to target the United States only, and less than 24% of the clicks came from the U.S.

When I contacted them, they said they would upload another list, but that they would not send the emails again. So I basically paid for something and did not receive it.

I would not waste anymore money on these scam artists.

One quick look in this guy's site told me he is a scammer.

The prices are waaaaaay too low!

For 300,000, for example, that price should be at least 10 times the amount he is asking. ... If not over $1,000.

Like advertising (buying traffic), good lists are not cheap.

I purchased a campaign a few days ago, and then noticed: (a) There is no City in their Address field. (b) The phone always goes to voicemail, (c) Their Customer Service person does not write like a literate person, (d) Customer Service person never indicates a name and cannot be contacted except via email, (e) Customer Service person made all sorts of promises about when the ad would be ready and the campaign would fire off - none of which have been met, (f) They are unable to provide any reports or hard data. Have come to the conclusion that this is one big scam. Nothing on their site is true. Its all fiction. Fictitious customer names and testimonials.

Many times the traffic these services is automated. You may want to be careful and try to do a bit more research. Hope your results improve!

You got to know what you're doing... if you're a newbie I would suggest not doing any kind of email marketing. Most people here sound like they fit that profile (no offense).

Same thing happens with pay-per-click - you'll get burnt out really quickly.
The average "Joe" will normally talk down (or call a "scam") something that he/she doesn't really understand anything about. - it's just in our human nature.

    Good luck players!

I say for every negative comment we say/write, we should spend time writing a positive article about our own product (website) for SEO purposes.

And here is why I say that…

I've seen people that spend money every month buying advertising for their website and getting disappointed because it maybe didn't work out the way they (in their head) thought it was supposed to.
Then those same people will go and bash on that company (or person) that provided that service. - time after time, it happens over and over and over again.

I once searched a random username that was on a complaint on a forum and found 48 different complaints that that woman had posted on all sorts of sites over the past 5 years. Most complaints were of products ranging from $1 all the way up to $67. - And they all had one thing in common (besides being negative), those products weren't helping her make money on her website.

I ended up copying all her complaints and pasting it into word to see the total word count.
The amount of words ended up being enough for 29 good articles of at least 500 words a piece.

If she had only spent that time writing articles about what she knew best (her website) and submitted it to all the high PR article directories, she’d be in a completely different situation right now.

Her site could have been ranked #1 for numerous keywords that weren’t even competitive that could bring her all the customers she needed. – It was a no-brainer.

I have had the same bad experience it seems as other people on this thread have had with directmarketingoptin.com. I have tried to contact them on their toll free telephone number and have never been connected to an actual person but only a voice mail service. Almost all of the clicks on my e-mail ads which they say they sent have resulted in failures 80% of the time. I told them that there was something wrong here because when I tried sending out my own e-mails using a small list I purchased, I had at least a 2 to 3% success rate. I have also asked them for a physical address so I could write to them and inform them of possible action I might take with the FTC or the NYS Atty Gen. and guess what? I still have not received an actual physical address from them. This site is nothing more than an e-mail scam!!!

Responses will always be different - you can never compare your lists to lists of companies that rent lists. Just because something doesn't work for you, it doesn't mean it doesn't work at all. - are you even an experienced email marketer? Do you know what you're doing?
