Has Anyone Had Success with Yahoo Answers and Such?

Not that I use Yahoo Answers, I did it a while back without any success. Not a single sale in 200 or so decent answers. There are people claiming they make $800 a day on Yahoo Answers and I wonder if it is possible.

I suppose there are certain niches that work, and some that do not.

    What are you strategies?
Here some that I have used to generate a few hundred bucks in my first month on Clickbank :

    FREE Strategies

    - Article Marketing (Bum Marketing)
    - Forum Marketing
    - Press Releases
    - Directory Submissions

    Paid Advertising

    - Adwords PPC
    - TLA

    Cheers :)

Yahoo Answers is not "the best" thing to do.

You may get a sale, but that's short-term strategy, because you have to keep answering questions....

Instead concentrate on doing SEO for your websites/articles, so you get organic long-term traffic.

While some say you can get results using Yahoo Answers, it is very hard. Also, they don't get that much traffic.
As bl4ckmaN mentioned, writing or submitting articles is better than this.

I haven't seen much results from my attempts at using Yahoo! Answers. I'm too worried that my answers will be deleted (as "spam") to really spend too much time with it anyway.

I agree with the above posts. It does work and indexing is quick but you need to follow up and you cannot control what other post. I would stick with articles.

I've tried it but the traffic is really short term and it hasn't generated any sales for me yet. Organic traffic is the main source of my sales.

Thanks everyone. Just as I was thinking.

4 sales from just one day of answering on Yahoo. Well it is worth it. Use that money for pay-per-clicks, outsource articles, buy links and all that. But I doubt getting 4 sales/day is possible speaking of a long term.

I`ll concentrate more on outsourcing articles / article directory submissions. These methods work smooth.
PPC is ok, but there`s a lot more to learn before starting a 2K - 3K campaign.

I`ve noticed one thing on Y Answers, that most of the contributors, the people that 'Ask' questions are under 18 years old. So I doubt again they would use credit cards to purchase any digital product. :)

I`m only looking for long-term targeted traffic (apart from small PPC campaigns) that is why I doubt making money on Yahoo Answers is possible.

There might be strategies that I do not have knowledge of. Can anyone more experienced share if there are any? Please I`ve heard enough of well written answers and those $800 a day on yahoo answers.

Are there any specific niches that do convert ?

    :)

    tx Cheers

I do ok from it, what you need to do is not go halfway though. The key is not traffic from yahoo answers but traffic but Google itself. You see, yahoo answers will rank in the top 3 for nearly any search term (whatever you make the question) with no backlinks. You make a question with an account that targets a long tail keyword and throw a question mark on the end to make it look like a question to folks at Yahoo Answers. Something like, how to download iphone movies? Make sure to answer the question and pick it as best answer. People who just post answers to other people's questions get nowhere, you need to do it right.

Wowhaxor so you mean first I should ask the question (on targeted keywords), then swap to another account and answer it ? Did I get it right ? :)

I've heard something similar a few weeks ago, but the guy was spamming big time. Around 1500 - 2000 answers/questions a week.

When I attempted to add my url at the bottom of my "answers" I was banned for spamming, it clearly says in their guidelines that this is allowed though?!

You don't get banned. It is most likely that you get a warning or two. Only severe forms of spamming Yahoo Answers will get you banned. :)

I've had a few warnings as well. It's better to use the resource box at the bottom of the screen. Accounts only get warnings when someone from the community reports the answer as 'Spam'. Don't worry it takes barely one minute to create another account.

The question is .. Is there anyone making at least 50 - $150 on Yahoo Answers? I've read a blog lately someone claiming that he makes $800 a day on yahoo answers. LoL. Imagine adwords would be flat bloke within' one month.

I don't think anyone making money with Yahoo Answers would reveal their secrets. It'd get saturated real quick.

Well there is always a bit of time for research. Yesterday I was browsing thorough the categories and noticed someone in the Weight Loss niche that has around 22,000 answers out of which 10,000 were 'Best Answers'.

He was a Fat Loss Coach from the US. Now it is really simple to tell what he was doing on Yahoo Answers. Promoting his website through the resource box. There was a psyhical address as well.

    :)

There might be some strategies, I think it has a lot to do with keyword research. All the questions are damn well indexed in google withing minutes.

Well 10000/22000 is about 1/2 and that's pretty easy to get. If you write decent and helpful answers, the askers most likely pick yours as most answers are crappy. Next to that most of the times people forget to vote for their own answers when there's a voting. So you can get those most of the time as well.

ive had some decent success. i use a script that filters out all open answers (and closed ones) based on keyword. then lets you mass answer them at the click of a button.

gotta be careful with it tho! but it is awesome.

Yes this is right, just make them not seem like spam. This method gives you a great search engine result for your long tail keyword along with you being the best answer, therefore people think that it was a natural question and answer and you are targeting the right Google traffic. One thing I forgot to mention was that when you choose yourself as the best answer be sure to rate it high and say something like, "that was awesome! did the trick perfectly!". I normally don't share my marketing techniques in as much detail but I've been using this for almost a year and a half with my paypal ebooks before I even got into CB and now it seems like it is common knowledge, everyone seems to know this method.
Only thing to say is that I make two new accounts every 10-12 questions, this way if someone (a competitor) marks your question/answer accounts as spam a couple times (competition is mean) and you get banned you wont lose every single question and answer that you have posted.

@Mill - I have that too (bhw?) but I only use it for pulling up questions, creating accounts and posting to. I write my own questions and answers manually each time and make them unique, that way they actually last.
