I've used link units on my websites but it doesn't pay very well for me. Is anyone having success with link units? If so, where do you recommend placing them on a website? Thanks.
They generally work well when placed along with your site's navigation links. To find out the hot spots, look at this guide from Google: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=17954
Yes, when it looks like navigation, above search boxes, in menu column, etc. But don't give them the best spots on your page, keep them for normal adsense ads.
It is depend on your website layout / theme. It could work well if you blend them along with navigation link. It could also works good if you place them along sidebar menu as well.
I have them near my horizontal navigation bar on my site and it works fine. Remember that you don't earn if they just click on the link unit. On the following page they still need to click on an ad.
I used to have Link Unit works great for me but after I change it to the Big Square Ad unit, I never looked back =) I believe this still depends on your site's layout.
Link units work extremely well. I don't put them on all of my sites only on some. It depends. You definitely should use them.
nope, no body as far as I know. All I see are people crying about low earnings. So you might as well not use adsense
Read https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/AsktheBuilder.html Here ask the builder says there is a jump of 18 percent in revenues after link ads. How about this? It is not about tools, it is about how well we use them.
Link units ar egood for small usage, if you plan to use small area for ads then link units work great. Otherwise normal ads do better. You may find it useful in navigation bar, menu bar, search box and between posts/comments.
