Has anyone had success with Facebook?

Hi Fellow bloggers, I've been running this blog www.newgadgetsguru.com for about 4 months now. Traffic hasnt been fantastic yet (I'm averaging around only 100 uniques per day).

I'm wondering if anyone has used Facebook to drive traffic to their blog? I've heard a few success stories here and there but I'm afraid I'm not really sure how to start. Can anyone help?

most people that go to facebok are not looking for a blog to read. So you have to create he need to read your blog. Some examples are starting a group related to the blog and promote that. Then once you get some subscribers tell them everytime you update your blog and also promote your stumble upon link as well as the other sites and get an rss feed as well

you just need to wed out the people who are not interested first thats what a group does. but kind of hard to get going at first like anything

I have some friends who do try and use facebook as a marketing platform but, from my personal viewpoint, I'm in facebook for friends, fun and any natural networking.

Any attempts from my marketing friends to constantly market things to me I feel are a bit of an intrusion on my privacy. In my case I see a lot of religious rubbish and, every other day, "come and see my blog, come and see my blog"... quite frankly it gets right on my t*ts and it has more of a negative impact on their "brand"... "Oh, yeah, THEM... the ad for something you don't want that you have no choice but to have thrust in your face every other day".

I feel that I'm being considered as less of a friend and more of "one of the herd", just another punter.

Personally, I prefer marketing to be more subtle and genuinely targetted, then it works. And I *would* read a gadgets blog...

I know I haven't answered your question directly but I hope my info gives you some insight as to how some of us feel about facebook as a marketing platform.

    :)
