Has anyone had luck with Car Rear-Window Advertising?

Hi- I've just built a brand new website and wanted to generate some local traffic. I'm thinking about putting an advertisiment on my window but am not sure if it would actually generate any interest to visit my website - what do you think about my proposed wording AND has anyone had any luck with this sort of advertising?

    My proposed ad:

Stop gagging on a fist full of vitamins!
Get your Free Quart of Liquid Body Balance today!
It's the secret to a healthier, more vibrant YOU!
    www.BodyBalanceforFree.com

Honestly, would YOU visit the website based on reading the above ad on the car in front of you? And if so, would you take advantage of the offer and try the product based on the ad and website? I could really use some honest, unbiased input here.

Thanks in advance for your input - I welcome constructive critisizim on my new website too if you have a minute...www.BodyBalanceforFree.com

I think its too long for the window of a car. Unless you are stopped at a light no one will have time to read that much, it should be short and sweet. Some kind of small tagline and your URL in big letters. The url is kind of long to remember at a quick glance though, I might rememeber it if I was insterested in the ad.

I have a scrolling marquee sign that I can put in the back of my car. That way you get to scroll multiple messages, and people really take notice since it's so out of the ordinary. Whether or not it's legal is a different matter... :)

I'm not sure if this answers your question or not... but I have the URL of my web hosting business on the side of my race car. On the way to the track one morning I stopped at a diner for breakfast. A few minutes after I sat down a guy came in asking who's car that was in the parking lot, I told him it was mine and he sat down and started asking about hosting. I would up landing a new hosting customer over breakfast. ;-)

    Will the traffic be targetted?

Or yes, this is as targetted as it can only be. Just make sure that the message clearly states the purpose - and only those interested in that service will respond.

Make the message short. A question, how will you measure the amount of people that converted from car sticker? by using direct referral?

How about something short and sweet? Like..

"Vitamins to Balance Your Body - www.BodyBalanceForFree.com"

    Or something like that?

ah well now you're experience is convincing me to start some adverts on cars!

But I'm not the type that would stop at different places unless I'm with others, and even if it's a new customer, I would hate to bring business into my personal life, especially in front of others...

i would say that it would give more local branding than actual sales from the ad

Actually i have been thinking about this for a long time now. Like myself, many people tend to read messages on cars when driving or standing at the bus stop or crossing the road. I have been lazy about doing the sticker for my website but now i think i will :)
