Has anyone had any success running a gaming website?

I'm thinking about starting a gaming website with this cool gaming script I plan on buying. I know there are thousands of flash gaming websites out there. Do you think I should still do it anyway?

Gaming sure is crowded area... You can buy scripts but you can also try to establish affiliate sales of downloadable games (such as via pnp.bigfishgames.com).

Does not make sense? started 5 years back @18 years old? How does it earn for him when he turned 15?

    Come on, get real.

Starting a gaming website is not that difficult. I get over 300 daily unigues without google. I am not listed in the top 100 in google, but does better in Yahoo, MSN, whcih are a lot easier to enter and pays equally.

I am not joining the crazy run for a google keyword when I can benefit equally by combing yahoo and other engines.

All the deep pocket guys are paying the best seo geeks to list them on the top of google. I am not one of them.

what i mean is when he was 13, he started a gaming site with his friend , you can say he was a wizkid, he created the gaming site, a forum actually, with events and all... tournaments... 1 year later[after he started getting decent traffic] he was approached by a company who wanted to takeover his site, he then holded [under his fathers legal guidance] the subsidiary, and the company which contacted them are now the holding company....

a year later that is when he WAS 15... he had earnt enough to take his parents to UK at his own cost....

    he is now 18...

and yeah at no point did i say starting a gaming site is difficult..... you just have to think right
