I've just brought a new domain, called theUKreviewpanel.com, and I'm looking for some ideas on what to use the domain for. Obviously it'll be for a review site, but what kind I don't know, as I've never opened a review website before.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This can be a good site for reviewing different things of uk. I think you can have review of almost everything in it. Just categorize the reviews in different categories. And try to stress on uk view not the world view. for example, you can have review of any movie in the movie review section, but i think you should review on how uk viewers take that movie, not hows the movie doing worldwide as their are lots of other popular sites reviewing the world view. Best of luck.

Pick a topic that interests you and/or is in a high paying niche.

Since the domain's keywords are general not specifying anything, you could use it not as a site to review stuff but as a directory where people post reviews of consumers. Make as many categories as you can think of. The domain name allows you that. For example and allow visitors to post consumer reviews or their own reviews.

Advertise, promote and get a bigger exposure. Once you have a good knowledge base of consumer reviews the vendors will start calling you. Create a special page or section where vendors could publish their offers. Of course this would be a paid service for them and you will make some cash on this thing.

This will make your directory for reviews powerful because you will put a social networking touch to it, like in all those sites that we call UGC (user generated content) sites.

Think about it for a second.

Thanks guys, +rep to you all above :)

I've been writing down an action plan for this, which I'll publish soon, but does anyone have any sort of script they'd think would work, for the idea turbulence posted above? I did think on using WordPress with a nice paid theme on it.

You could maybe put there multiple UK review categories - e.g. from politics to clothes, etc.

Yeah that was my plan Mike. I might leave it for a few weeks, or wait until new year (1st Jan 09) to start on it, giving me all this time to work on the website etc for it.
