Yes, kind of hard to advise without more variables given to the equation; too many factors to speculate without some more information.

Have you changed any of the content or links pointing back to your site lately?

I think it is the fact that you have 'Autotrader UK' anchor text links to http //www.autotrader.co.uk/, 3 mentions of 'Autotrader' that link, 2 that don't. Kill the hyperlinks, maybe save 1 low on the page. The cache is about 10 days old, and that could play a factor. But 6 positions is not much to worry about... get more links, and you will see better, more stable results.

You can not do SEo by numbers. Ok so lets say your site went from 10 to 15 why should that mean you go up? do you think the world stands still around you?

EVERYONE is trying to get more links, your going to have to look at the sites around you as well as your own.

So true, which is why 6 positions is nothing. It shouldn't be hard to get back up...

But Google is still jumping up and down over this jagger update. I wouldn't worry about losing 10 or 20, perhaps more, until you have seen it go down and stay there for several days at this time.
When Google stabilizes, you should have a better view of what you need to do to match the others.

Yes i have added a few links

I will give that a try but i did think G gave more weight to hyperlinked keyword. what data center did you see the site cache as 10 days old i see it as cached on the 7th

I thought the algo was done by numbers, My site went up not down in the all in search but down in the natural serps. I have been checking the site around me and the seem pretty stable.

Just found it a bit strange to drop in the serps but go up in the all in search when every one else seem pretty stable.

    Thanks all for your comments.

Only when it is pointed to your own site... you are giving them a boost by linking to them with the keywords, which is why I recommend killing the links.
    http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:http://www.thevirtualgarage.co.uk/ shows Nov. 30.

Is that normal for G to have different cache dates on all data centers. Just checked a few and got all different dates

Yes it is, because they all don't crawl at the same time.
