Either for advertising on, or for being advertised on. Any thoughts? We've got an online storefront that sells niche products (gifts for readers, writers and the unique) and we're trying to find advertising mediums with good return rates. What do you guys suggest? (Just read about Smowtion. Yikes!)
Dont ever go to projectwonderful. Their site is poorly designed. and the sites generate traffic via bots. I was buying traffic on one of the site where the traffic was on 60000uv but got only 2 clicks. I regret I have wasted my money from them and I will not return to them in my life time... Biggest craps and stealers of money
Project Wonderful can work well for webcomic sites in english, like the one I do. I am a publisher and I have to admit that hardly anybody who has advertised has been lucky with clicks, even after thousands of pageviews. Probably a 468×60 banner is not the most effective ad either. But PW is currently working for me, because the current advertiser has placed an ad that attracts clicks, and is willing to bid to get their ad displayed. So, I am getting a few dollars, which I can spend on advertising on other comics. Sometimes results are poor, but it works fine most of the time and it can be cheap or free.
Hi, The money that I make with PW, I use it to advertise, so I'm not in it for profit; at least for now. Although my blog doesn't get zillions of visits, I have advertisers that are using my blog continuously for months. If an ad gets clicks or not depends alot of the ad format and especially of its aspect, and of course of its position on the blog or website. I try to offer well placed ad spots.
You are throwing money in to dustbin. Owner of the site is member in this forum and BHW. So there may be duplicate accounts floating in. But I have invested around 40$ in it . It is useless one
Ok, I really wish people on here would give more elaborate answers then "It's a scam" or "It sucks!!!!111" but Project Wonderful is for small starting websites, not big time high traffic content. Personally I have days where I earn $.05 to $10 depending on how much traffic I can get to my site. Also, if you bid like an idiot on everything you see, your gonna lose out money rather then keeping your losses to a minimum on bidding, you gotta research which sites your bidding on and what kind of traffic your going for. I personally love Project Wonderful since I haven't really stepped out of the 100 uniques a day bracket for my site, but when I do I'm sure I'll need a better Advertising Agency but for now, I can average about 2-5 clicks per $.01 since I know which sites love to direct traffic to mine. In short, IT DOESN'T SUCK!!!!!! It's just not for the big boys here who demand 1,000,000 unique visitors otherwise they swear up and down it's a scam
Thanks Johnny... seems like a pretty rational point of view. Similar to many of the second tier engines out there, it sounds like.
Figured Project Wonderful could use some love since I'm a lower end traffic website and it's been slowly helping me grow yet it's been receiving really unfair trashing. If a tool or website helps me out with helping my blog get off the ground, I make sure to let people know what it is and the pro's WITH the con's are of using it. There's just way to much misinformation floating around on this Forum as of lately so I figured I'd due my part to pay back the favor.
