Im looking into a few companies to run a huge text message campaign , but had a few things in mind . #1 I cant pay more than 1 penny per message , ( Cheapest i found was 3 cents ) #2 My biggest concern is the messages are sent 1 second apart from eachother ( meaning 60 per minute ) ... Now theres no way in the world im going to wake someone up 4am with a Marketing text message that would only get them angry . I have a huge connection with ************ Phone Company that will provide me over 3 Million Cell-Phone #'s .... Just curious as to what you think about this , I need some advice if you think its a good idea or not .. Cheers
I think text marketing could be the next frontier for spam and viruses. With a lot of phones moving to an OS based setup, viruses will be more prevalent. Noone wants to receive calls from telemarketers and noone wants to receive text messages like that. It would more or less be like a text version of a telemarketer. I just don't think this is a good route to take unless you want to risk damaging your reputation by being known as a text spammer. Your best option for mobile devices is to have a mobile optimized web page.
I realize that... it was meant as a joke. The universities are going to start using a similar program to do "killer on the loose, don't go to class" text messages to students, as a security measure to prevent situations similar to the VA Tech Massacre from happening.
