Has anyone ever tried advertising in those paid to read e-mail programs?

I was thinking of doing it to promote my work at home site, figuring I might really be reaching my target audience this way. I do paid to read sites myself. I had a lot of money in my "Wow Earnings" account so I decide to trade it in for advertising. However, it seems like either they are trying to screw me for my money or they are just not working the site anymore. I get the same three paid to read e-mails every day and my payment has been pending for months. No response to e-mails or anything. I wonder if I can report them to somebody?
But anyway, my original question- I am thinking of doing this with another program possibily and I was wondeirng if anyone else has done this and if it has worked for them.

Hi Christen. I also tried a few paid to read programs but didnt have any luck making money with them. According to many, most of the available programs are scams. Atleast you still get emails from them :) Most sites I had signed up with dont send me any now. Must be a part of their tactics? Anyways, by participating in these programs I learnt that, most people wont even bother reading the contents. All I used to do was open the email, click on the link, give it a few seconds it load and then press Alt + F4.

There are many other ways you can promote your site. Targetted advertising, exchanging links with sites which have similar content, add it to a few directories, etc etc.

i send out emails to a list that I have created over the years and don't get a very good click through rate...spam (mine are opt in) emails have ruined that marketplace unless you are going to jump on board with some GIANT SPAMMER that sends out tens of millions of spamails...you still probably won't get click throughs
