No one knows how long it will take. I've read on other forums 1 week to 1 year or more.

I think I may have bought a penalized domain... Im wondering if I should call Google, or do a reconsideration request etc.

Are they hard to get on the phone???

my site was also banned in google last week and it was totally removed from google search. I have submited the reconsideration form but google will reply only if they think my site is not violating their terms. And I am unable to figure out which term I have violated.

Any ways it can take 1 week 1 month 2 months or may be 6 months.. There is no fix time line..

It's taken months for people I know. So don't get your hopes up.

I've filled a reconisderation request about 3 weeks ago...
One of my sites was banned for selling dofollow text links, which dropped in ranking and lost it's PR

Guess what, after I've filled the form by about 7 days... the site started to rank once again and it's old PR started to show up even in Google Toolbar :)

However, it might take less or more than that.. just wanted to share my experience though ;)

Bottom line: Google says it's going to read all reconsideration request and it seems they are doing that.
