Has anyone ever bought one of those AdSense secret books?

Someone posted on one of my sites yesterday about the 'AdSense secrets' books and I was wondering if anyone had ever purchased one or any of the videos?

I'd be interested to hear peoples feedback without it being sabotaged by "Buy my AdSense eBook" type posts....

Nope i didnt.. but i dled them... to tell you the truth those arent even worth 50bucks. The max price for them could be 10 or maybe 20 dollars, because they only give you tips that you actually get for free from good sources.

If you are lazy, then buy an eBook. If you have the time and inclination to scour websites and forums, you'll get the same information (and maybe more) for free.

To be honest I'd kinda guessed they weren't worth much but what sort of info do they actually contain? I've read a few of the money making eBooks and they all seem to be pretty high on padding and pretty low on content. Is that the same here or are there genuinely some golden nuggets?

Judging from the few ebooks I've bought, my comments are:

    1) Many include a jewel or two that can often make the price worthwhile. If one small part of the book allows me to increase my revenue by at at least the price of the book, it's worthwhile. Unfortunately, you have to read through a lot of fluff and newbie material to get to the good parts, if there are any.

    2) This is usually a lot of padding to make the book seem more than what it is. This includes one-sentence paragraphs, large type font, large headers and footers, and short chapters that cut off pages. Actually, all this padding makes the book easier to read, which may have been the author's intention.

    3) There are few "secrets" in the books that claim such. But, sometimes the mere explanation of how to successfully use techniques I already knew about, but gave up on, can be inspirational and can motivate me to try them again.

I suppose my point is that all ebooks are not all bad. Unfortunately, a few frauds and scammers have given the whole lot a bad name. That makes it difficult to know the bad from the good. That's why I ALWAYS buy those that have a money-back guarantee (such as all those using Clickbank).

I offer a free download called adsense ignitor which gives you some tips on adsense/adwords. I don't pay for adsense ebooks anymore after hanging out on DP :) This place has all the info.

I guess the only benefit is that it's put into one easy read rather than scanning across multiple threads. I take it there is no one encompassing thread on DP that gives solid advice?

I bought the adsense code by Joel Comm.

While it wasn't earth shattering info, there were some pretty good tips and things to keep in mind. It was worth the $$ IMO.

I bought Joel Comm's "Adsense Secrets" and it was pretty lame... had a ton of junk/affiliate ads in it and has no secrets you can't find in this forum. It really irritates me to buy a book/ebook that has ads in it!

I also bought Michael Cheney's video adsense course for $97 and the same thing... TONS of ads throughout the course (that you don't get reimbursed for) and again, nothing you won't find in this forum. BUT...WHAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF...was I signed up for his affiliate program and got two sales...and Michael Cheney NEVER paid me even after contacting him several times.

DO NOT BUY MICHAEL CHENEY'S COURSE!!!

The biggest "secret" any adsense book will tell you is the one about putting images close to your ads. What they don't tell you is Google's current official stance on this is you need to use a border with your ads or place some type of
visible line/seperator between the image and the ad. There, I just saved you $100

Have not brought a book but I did buy adsense videos helped me a lot mainly with ad placement click thru rate doubled.

You can learn heaps on forums but these vids go into more detail. Sig link has more info and a free article I wrote that I beleive is good advice for people new to adsense.

yes I am an affiliate for these vids.

    cheers
