Has anyone come across Mamma?

This claims to be the mother of all search engines.

 

Never heard of this before, what's the url?

 

I have heard of it but never seen it....

 

Yea My friend uses it, but she doesn't get on the internet very much,a nd she is starting to use google more.

For a lot of stuff it works much better than google at the moment.

 

Yup, used it once in the past, was rubbish.

 

I don't use Google or Mamma I use iFrogg.net it's better.

 

I've been told that a lot of military personnel use this (by a couple people in the Army). Not sure why and I have no way to check this

Mamma.com was really big a few years ago but since has dropped in popularity.

gives pretty decent results IMHO.

I used it 8 years ago. Mamma was very popular these days

 

I think in the case of google, they've been very lucky in that they were the first real search engine. They've gained an unbelievable first-mover advantage.

Yes many many years ago it was one of the one's we all massed submitted to.

 

Mamma was one of the first affiliate program Private Label Meta Search I joined.
It was in 2000.

 

IMO Mamma delivers most of their search traffic via domain cybersquatting, typosquatting and through buying expiried domains. Much like Netster.com they are VERY prolific.

 

i used to use it A LOT waay back when i was 13-14 years old.
