Has anyone here been banned from google for paid links or know of someone who has?

How long did it take to get banned after you purchased your links, and approx. how many did you purchase?

Trying to find out if google is really doing this. I havent come across a thread yet where someone has actualy been banned from google for this.

Have a look in the directories forum and I am sure that there's a few directories feeling the heat, I believe they're just loosing positions in Google and in turn traffic / more like a penalization than a complete ban though.

I guess it really depends on the methods used to sell links, directories are a a scapegoat and are a easy target (when they have paid / bidding positions on them).

Do you really not understand the difference between a javascript created link in a legitimate advertisement and SEO snake oil?

Google doesn't ban you for paid links, it lowers you in the SERPs slowly and makes you stop selling links. ;)

yeah, I'm afraid about this too. I think it will be very hard for SEs to describe what are paid links and what are exchanged links.

Google doesnt ban you for paid link , but ban you depends on which kinds of link to your site.
Normally if you use auto redirect links , you will be get banned around 40-60 days.
    Good luck btw.

Sorry Xoze.com but you are completely wrong. If they banned you based on the sites that link TO you then you could knock off all your competition by purchasing 'bad' links.

Yes a lot of people have been banned from Google for link buys or there value taken away. Generally when this happens you have to send in a reinclusion request.

Google does not ban your site because of the paid links because for first they don't have a system for detect it.The only way to find that you sell the links is a Google Spam Report, but if I good know they rather don't really care about these messages.I think that this is the next way to scare us sell the links.I think that is a possibility that Google now is searching a method, but I think that it will take them a lot of time so don't care about.I'm sorry for my english, but this is not my mother tongue language. If I did some mistakes, please to correct it:).

Yep. Someone reported one of my sites that had over 50k backlinks at one stage. Man, I was getting tons of traffic. All of sudden, the traffic reduced by 80% and the site was de-indexed. I ended up selling the site.
