Has Anyone Added rel = author tag?

I recently did this and I was wondering when the picture starts to show up on the Google search results? Anyone?

 

If you go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets you can check and make sure you have everything set up correctly. If you do, it should probably only take a couple days.

 

Define recently. It can take up to a week or sometimes more for a page to be updated. So if you did setup everything correctly, then just sit back and wait. It will appear.

rel tag means relation tag which shows the relationship between the content and the content written by the person. These tag mostly used in articles, pr and blogs with indicates the content written by the person or author. I'll show you a great example of this rel tag <a rel="author"href="http://www.broadcast2world.com/youtube-video-marketing.php">youtubemarketing video</a>

Just added it. My site is actually not a review site and not a people profile site (as per the FAQ), but I hope my ugly face still gets displayed and raises my CTR

rel="author" is very flaky right now - it seems to cut in and out, but definately how much you are posting on your blog(s) and on your google plus profiles are all taken into account - So keep posting our high quality content and you should find it does get activated for you.

Mine was initially activated but then disappeared about 1 week ago, I suspect it will re-appear now soon.

 

Quality content and high google search results - are required to get the picture seen in results.

I'm second for one of my target search strings and fourth for the other. After 4 days, I still don't see my photo next to the search results. Other sites farther down (and with a lot less content than mine) do have the face photo. I hope it changes soon!

PS: you only see the photo if you're logged in a G+ account (not necessarily yours, of course)

If you are only seeing it when loggin into a g+ account it's not yet working properly for you - It's meant to work without being logged into G+. Note that people do not automatically get this - It's still based on the amount and quality of your work.

 

I tried it with wordpress and most of the plugins for rel=author are broken. I don't think rel=author spamming is good idea. I don't click on results which are manipulated that way.

 

Whilst I agree that some of the plugins have some bugs in them, so say rel=author is spamming is plain and simply silly. This system was INVENTED by Google and is completely explained on their own web pages.

They fully support it, you just have to use it the right way.
