Has anybody noticed a decrease in traffic from Google?

Hi All,

Just wanted to know if anybody has noticed a decrease in overall traffic for yesterday (Tuesday 15th July).

I have several sites and they all have experienced a significant decrease in traffic. Has anybody else experienced this?

Are Google's datacenters going crazy or they about to do a major Algo update?

probably it depends on your keywords. I also notice small decrease in traffic but only in my weight loss niches. The other niches are fine.

 

This is very strange, I have the occasional fluctutions but not like this....anyway we'll wait another day and see....I knew somethign was up when my adSense earnings literally halved....

 

I had problems for a week but now it is ok

 

Traffic to my sites remains stable, so I don't know what to tell you. PR update should be soon so maybe they are working on backlinks now and causing the rapid changes.

 

My traffic has actually gone up from google in the past month

no change in my traffic, perhaps some of the google's data center disabled for a mean time and that can change the rankings of other websites including yours, and in effect your traffic will decreases.

 

I think you're crazy if you think Google itself is experiencing a decrease in traffic. Your sites may have all slipped in rankings, or if your sites are all hosted together they might have had some downtime.

Also remember search volume can be tied to day of the week, time of the month, or seasonal. Sometimes I see spiked of over 50% volume in 1 day for a keyword that my ranking has not changed for.

Another thing to watch for is that Google has lots of data centers, and not all have the same rankings for your websites. Just because you see yourself ranking at #5 for a keyword, you could be ranking worse on other Google servers. If Google suddenly synchronizes their servers, you can see a huge upside or downside depending on if your rank goes up and down on some servers that were showing old rankings.

I use keywordenvy.com to check my rankings, and they track my traffic along with my rankings so I can see them both on the same graph. It's amazing how much they can swing from day to day, and it's nice to see it all in a chart, so I don't panic when stuff like this happens.

my traffic is never the same for any website. I try to just focus on build each page the best that I can then work on creating traffic.
