I do not think they care at all where it comes from as long as you've not bought a load of spam traffic.

Lots of traffic = Good business. Am wondering why you are worried in getting all these traffic.

    Care to share why?

    Thanks

Sure- to be honest, they sent me an e-mail saying I had too much traffic coming from facebook. I have over 10,000 fans, It's not like I was spamming!! I guess we all need to start being careful. They gave me a warning, so I pretty much NEED to stop posting my updates on Facebook :(

Too much facebook traffic? Can someone have too much money? I don't know if such thing exists. At least if the traffic is legal there should be no problems with too much facebook traffic, on the contrary, facebook traffic is much more solid than traffic via your google rankings if google decides to change their algo again.

I agree with you. If the traffic's all legit why would google send you an email and worry about those traffic.

I could see what mute was saying as being the case. Otherwise I have no idea why they would care.

That's so unusual, if the traffic came from legitimate sources why should it bother them? Have you tried to email them?

Make sure that Google Adsense Team sent you that. In my opinion? I would send that email to Facebook.

Traffic that comes from Facebook should be fine, almost all blogs I visit their 2nd source of traffic is Facebook. And if you are getting steady Facebook traffic, just keep on doing that man. Grow quality readership , not traffic that comes for 10sec and leaves.

    Hey pistons125,

Can you look your google analytics and tell me how many percent facebook traffic the all other sources ??

I have just started on facebook. It gives me about 5% traffic then all other sources but it is increasing day by day.
I may need to take care of it in advanced.

    Please Advise.

Im suprised by this. If anything traffic from your friends on facebook is just as genuine if not more so than from the search engines. These are people who are genuinaly interested in what you have to offer. The only thing I can think of is that they think you may be asking your friends to click on the adds or the clicks tend to be from the same people.

Is the "they" you mentioned facebook or google adsense? If its facebook, its really not fair to tel you not to have anymore updates because posting updates are freedom of expression for any fanpage.

Makes sense to me. What does Google want? Quality and relevancy. The big thing with FB is the number of followers or friends or whatever you call them. The more the better. IMers can easily use this to their advantage, and really do.How much relevant traffic comes from FB?

Go to fiver and for $5 they will get you 200 FB friends. This is the type of thing I think Google has a problem with. The big .org sites etc don't have to do that and their followers/friends are for real.

I'm not saying that everyone in IM is doing it, but this has been going on for a long time and can really make a difference on your web presence, and Google knows it;)
