Yeah The seventh book is gonna the last one of the "Harry Potter" series. She is wise, so I dont think she would kill harry. The whole Harry Potter series is meant for kids, and kids dont like to see their hero to die. If she chose to kill Harry Potter, It could cause a serious backfire.. as far as 2 major characters are concerend I think it can be Hagrid and Voldemort...
I read some article about J.K. Rowling yesterday, and ti was saying about how she is the richest person in her country, and that her wealth will only continue. She got invited to one of the Queens partys just for the Queen liking her book. Man... I gotta start writing book lol
My frien you have hit the topic right on the head I love Harry Potter, well more the fanfiction now, I think with the last book (Half Blood Prince) the quality of the original work took a rather steep dive downhill. but I'll read the seventh book if only to see what will happen and to round off the series. BTW, anyone know anything about this rumour that JK is planning to write a 'post-hogwarts' sequel? There's been some talk about it over on the FictionAlley forums, but nothing concrete. but back to my original point, yes I love the fanfiction, in fact I probably spend a very unhealthily large amount of time reading it, and I also have a couple on the go myself just to pass the time during these absurdly long Uni summer hols. Cheers and take care, and glad to see there are other HP fans here. Do PM or mail me if you want to chat or share stories or anything else like that. Hussein.
This direct quote is slightly different (thanks shamess). This sounds like she never planned on killing Harry in any of the first six books because she knew he would have a role to play in the seventh. That doesn't imply Harry will die in the seventh, however. I think one of either Ron or Hermione with die because: "A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do." She also speaks of a character that gets a reprieve. This makes me think: Snape. I think he was originally intended to die, but didn't. As for Harry, I think he will live, but the death of either Hermione or Ron (my guess) will not leave the reader feeling that everything worked out perfectly in the end, even though Harry survived. I think that would offer just the right touch of realism that Rowling puts into her books: In the battle of good versus evil, good ultimately triumphs -- but that victory would not come without a price.
Harry will die. Because She doesn't want any other person to continue the story and earn money from her character (harry potter), after she dies herself. Anyways harry potter sucks.. so he should die anyways.
I don't agree that he sucks... But you're right in saying that she'll kill him off to prevent spin-offs, which are bound to occur. In any case, I'm sure that the fanfic community will be able to figure out a way to continue a story like that. I think the only good harry potter books were the first two. I was younger, and so enjoyed them more, and the idea of a kid becoming a wizard - the intrigue, etc. was fascinating.
I for one like harry potter and now that he does not go to hogwarts who said its the last book. Its going to be ron or hermione. When there searching for horxuses you know someone is goign to die and from book 1 they always tell harry to go on. I bet its ron though becuase he wouldnt want hermione to die.
there are some rumors that Rowling was thinking about killing Harry on the last book to prevent other authors from writting a sequel......
rowling would ruin herself if he makes in die. Since early in teh series no book has ended in a good note which does not affect me if its a good book but does some of her younger readers.
yes unfortunately. http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/books/06/26/potter.deaths.ap/index.html she just agve a clue that 2 characters would die on the last book and hinted that Harry might not survive either. She'sll definitely end the HP series on the seventh book. After all, what would Harry do if there'll be no more Voldemort.
Thats the point he would not do anything and the series would be over. Thats why you keep him alive and kill voldemort like everyoen knows its supposed to happen. I just dont know how good its going to be. I always liek harry potter because of the happieness along with adventure. Now shes taking it into more of a dark kind of book which I don't like 7th book better be good. When is it coming out?
probably somethign great happens liek harry dieing or dumbledore coming back, becuase writers usually write with a flow I would think
