    On your main page my scroll bar appeared. I hate scrolling but when I scrolled over the only thing that was there was your adsense skyscraper. A high percentage of you visitors will not see the adsense ad. I would reccomend narrowing the page to benefit all of the potential visitors.

    The forum page looks clean and you got 7309 post! Again though I scrolled to see what was not visible and I found your 2 small banners and the affiliates link. They don't do much good to the visitors that don't see them.

    How long have yoy had the forum running? Good Luck with it

    I've no comments on your site,
    but this site looks to be optimized for 1024x768 displays, so dcanfield should get a bigger monitor :) the default is 1024 these days, don't change that eye-2i.

    You should never design for one specific resolution, always try to produce a smooth layout that can adapt to the the lower resolutions.

    A lot of people still view in 800x600 even if they are capable of 1024x768. I myself am one of them.

    Definitely not standard now, and won't be for awhile.

    Vertical scrolling is a lot more acceptable than horizontal and with a large percentage of eye-2is visitors not seeing the adsense ad on the index page you will have your click thru rate drop because maybe 25% or (whatever number) of the visitors will NEVER see the ad.

    This is just my opinion though. Nothing personal against ya Frankm :cool:

    no prob dcanfield;

    I design my sites to be acceptable for 800x600 , but look their best on 1024x768 or bigger - on all my sites combined, 80% of the users has 1024 or bigger.

    If your sites main income is from google adsense, you should make sure it's always visible(top-left). If it's additional, I don't care that 20% of my visitors will never see the adsense skyskraper.

    Getting a bigger monitor doesn't solve that. A bigger monitor doesn't neccessarily show more, it scales according to the resolution setting.

    1024 may be the default on new monitors these days, but plenty of people still have older monitors that are set at 800x600 and they either have know clue how to change it or prefer the larger.

    The best way to make your site compatible for as many resolutions as possible is to use percentages (100%) instead of fixed px width and make your banner at the top smaller or split it into two graphics (left and right) so it can scale.

    Hiya. the site has been up since Jan or Feb 2005. Can't remember exactly. It actually does not belong to me but I am one of the admins. I assist the community where I can. The boss of the site is dkwick. He's the one who got it up and happening. I sponsor the hosting and is one of my networks.
