Hardest riddle I've heard, PROBABLY, is the following:

Which 5 letter English word is pronounced exactly the same every time you take away 1 letter from the end, until there is nothing left.

My brother told me that one, after 1 week of thinking i gave up...

But i know it now :)

    You?

The hardest riddle I have ever heard is- What does everyone need, but no one uses, oh and everyone gives it.

Ok so prolly not the hardest riddle ever, but it's the only I could think of right now.

    Yeah!

It can be a non vowel ( consonant ) also in English. In French, it is a vowel.
