    As has been noted numerous times before, doing so would simply lead to more public spam in threads. While PM spam sucks, it's still better contained than public spam everyone is subjected to. On top of that, other rules require PMs to be sent instead of posts made in the BST section, and people need to be able to PM mods and admins with questions.
