Hard drive Failed - Under Warranty - Need Advice

Hi guys, recently bought a Hitachi 1TB hard drive off eBay and it broke on the 8th day.

I have two options ahead of me now and I need help from you guys to decide.

    1) The seller might agree to refund my money on returning the hard drive and I can buy a new drive by shelling in some extra cash. This costs me Rs. 2000 (50$) to ship back to the US (from India) and maybe another 100$ to buy a new drive.

    2) The drive is under warranty till Nov 2008 and I will be moving to the US in July. So I can buy a new drive now and once I reach the US, I can send the broken drive to Hitachi for replacement. As I will be needing extra storage in months to come I think this is not a bad idea because I will be having 2TB space available once I get the replacement drive.

So guys, help me decide. :)

    Thanks

If you can wait buy the new drive now. If not grab the RMA number and send it back to be replaced.

I'd opt for the second option. Buy a new one and use the warranty on the one you've just bought to get it repaired.

Give me option No.2 johnny and settle for a smaller drive.
