    Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and new to attempting to move up the ranks of search engines. I still use Notepad to code my sites, learned everything from trial and error, and have managed to stumble along fine. I was excited to find sites like these and decided to put a bit more effort into figuring out how to rise up the ranks of search engines in an effort to generate more traffic and increase my Adsense revenues.

I was doing well... ranking high on Google for lots of things and getting at least 100 new visits per day. So I figured I'll try to learn a bit more and tinker with my site in an effort to increase traffic bit by bit. Well I'm really not sure where I went wrong but Google doesn't seem to like me much anymore and its killng me! I had a PR4 without any idea what a PR even was and now I am down to a PR3. My pages are also nowhere to be seen for searches that used to get me top rankings.

Not knowing much about this game I was hoping that you guys could have a look at my site and let me know if you can spot any glaring mistakes I have made that might anger the Google gods. I am wondering if my main page might be considered spammy because of the repeat of 'place, hostels, work etc.' four times. It was never intended this way - just thought it to be a good way to be able to hop around my site. What do you think of this?

Any suggestions at all would be great! My site has a lot of original content though I know that much of it (ie the Canadian part) is not complete yet. Any advice on design or opinions on what you think of the site in general and my Adsense placement would be great too!

    Thanks for your help!
    Kirsty

Put some alt and title tags on the navagational images on the left. News, links, f.a.q. etc.

    Looks nice!

Thanks Roze! I already have alt tags on the left... as far as I know. I'm not even sure what title tags are, I will investigate!

Anyone have any ideas about why Google hates me all of a sudden? I am really mostly curious if my main page too spammy with the repeated words? Could that be it?

First mistake I found, is that I could find your header tags <h1><h2>etc.. in your source code. I could be wrong but a quick search did not locate any...you're going to need those for your primary keyphrases.
