I'm wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving Day - What are you most grateful for? If you would like to comment, please try to bring something for our virtual Thanksgiving dinner. I suppose I'm most grateful for the basic things, such as food, shelter, and family. I would like to share this green bean casserole - be careful, it's still hot! Edit: Jackuul, oops - you're right. So I can make this more political, here's our grand Messiah with a few words about Thanksgiving...
No, it doesn't have any meat - here's the recipe. It has green beans, mushroom soup, milk, and french fried onions. It sounds a little strange, but it's very tasty.
Haha rebecca, that looks good. I remember back when Thanksgiving used to mean something (for me at least) and there was still the togetherness in family and the pride in country. Then you get older and more miserable and learn about the history of America and the way it is now.. and you wish you could go back into the veil of ignorance and believe in Santa again. Still my favorite holiday, just not like it used to be. That's my thoughts, i tried to politicize it a bit. Happy TG to you all.
Thanks, Nate. I suppose nothing is exactly like it used to be, I'm hoping you have a memorable Thanksgiving regardless. I appreciate that, thanks New. Thanksgiving stuff... 83rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Obama Presidential Pardoning of Turkeys - "Today at the White House, the President officially pardoned not one turkey, but two -- sparing both “Courage†and “Carolina,†a request from his compassionate daughters.." I think I'll stay offline now until Thanksgiving is over, but wishing everyone a great holiday!
Let us join hands together in this unique national tradition we all share. Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of us.
I am very thankful that we have a President that I can be proud of for the first time in many years. Thank you to the people of America for making the right choice last November.
(Remember) when the disciples said: "O Jesus, son of Mary! Can your Lord send down to us a table spread (with food) from heaven?" Jesus said: "Fear God, if you are indeed believers." (112) They said: "We wish to eat thereof and to satisfy our heart, and to know that you have indeed told us the truth and that we ourselves be its witnesses." (113) Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O God, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread (with food) that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a festival and a sign from You; and provide us sustenance, for You are the Best of sustainers." (114) God said: "I am going to send it down unto you, ....... [translation of chapter 5 of the Quran] All the praises and thanks be to God the Lord of the worlds. Happy thanksgiving day.
We don't celebrate thanksgiving here in my country. But as a members here I want to thank all the members for sharing their knowledge.
This year surprised me in every way possible. Reconnected with old family, gonna keep in contact with my cousin in Florida now; so I have to say thanks to Rebecca, maybe you helped it happen How was yinzes?
Sooo stuffed. Broncos won, Raiders lost, can it get any better? Since it is P&R, I just want to proxy say a word of thanks on behalf of the more than 150 countries around the world who have been regularly receiving financial aide from the United States for many years. This is, of course, direct aide from the US Government and, therefore, the US taxpayers, and is completely aside from the billions of dollars in private donations made by various charitable organizations within the US. At a time when finances are especially tight in the US, we know you both need and appreciate it, which is one of the many reasons we do it.
That's fantastic, I'm glad you reconnected with your family. I spent the day with my family as well, and it was a lot of fun. My sister made the green bean casserole.
