Don't mined "Nintendo" he needs a brains transplant. By the way I want to tone more than build as i am able to do hundreds of 15 kg dumbells. I tried this morning and i did 400+ and then I had to stop cause my GF came over. I was thinking of making it heavier to 20kg, which really isn't that heavy at all. Ohh yah 30 aint that old bro thats still young, Hope that removed all the pain the others gave you about your age. Grim is the expert here, so if I am speaking out of school, I do apologize. That said, I still think, even for toning, you're doing way too many reps. Give your muscles a chance to relax. Hell, even if you are trying to build yourself up for endurance, 1-3 sets of 15 to 20 reps is more than enough. Again, I'm not an expert here, but I think you are doing way too many reps.
He's doing way, way to many reps. If he's actually doing 400 reps I doubt he's even doing the motion correctly to tell you the truth.
