    Hey all,
    So who here likes poker?

Its taking over the world, especially Ireland and the UK anyway.

Anyone here play it? Anyone play online?
Maybe we can get a tournament of DP members!

online poker was huge here in the states, I think its dying down though. I haven't really seen poker tournaments on tv as much. I like to play poker though :)

It IS taking over the world! I love watching Hold'em on TV, and have played a few tourneys with friends, but still haven't made my way to do so at the casinos or such.

    Poker rocks.

    I used to, then I lost $100,000

    No not really :)

But I just got bored of it, poker is a bit too repetitive. I also get the feeling its dying down though. Even though partypoker is still getting record signups...
Although I read on the BBC today that each new player costs partypoker £250 to actually sign up (advertising etc), which is a hell of a lot.

World poker tour is finally on tv with a new season!

WSOP should start up again this summer.

Poker is okay to watch (I'm getting bored with it, to be honest), but I don't think I'd ever play it with real money

is it a profitable job? I play with fake money online. I'm always wondering if you do real money, how many of the people are real - and who the "casino" controls to rake in bucks from players.

Not sure what you mean who the casino controls, it would be illegal for a casino to have a bot that has an advantage over players.

Poker players just absolutely LOVE it when I play poker!
I can spend 100 bucks on the slots and be there all day and walk away with
most, if not all of the money.
I sit down at a card table, and in moments, there goes 100 bucks.

    But do love blackjack!
Can win bucks at that table easily.

I'm not completely sure about PartyPoker but with others you can get *upto* £250 bonus. When I say this I mean that you have to deposit a certain amount before you can get that bonus. There's always a catch too...

For example PokerStars I got some bonus but the minimum deposit was $50, and you have to get a certain number of frequent player points before you can claim your bonus. I played for a couple of weeks, lost all my cash and still don't have enough points to claim the bonus!!! It sucks! ....Or maybe I just suck at poker!

But yeah I love hold 'em... :D

Over the year I've played at Poker Stars, VC Poker, William Hill Poker, Pokerrooms... None of them can beat actually playing in person though :)

What do you mean you don't know the rules of UK or US? Which particular type of poker do you play?

This is the most interesting thing with poker. Apart from the all time classic texas hold'em, there are so many other variations... I love poker!
