I currently own both .com and .co.uk extensions of quite a few domains. I have been working on a new site for a couple of months which has hit a Google rank of just 1. I also own the .co.uk version of the identical domain, but is has no Google PR, has absolutely no content on it, has never been confirmed or site-map submitted to Google Web-master tools and it has never had any content on it. I Was thinking of just placing a 301 redirect on this extension as I have noticed that many of my hit searches are people actually trying to type in my website with the .co.uk so I was thinking that this may help catch those people quicker. Since the domain has never done anything before it did not really seem worth the effort. I do not want to build another website but I thought someone here would be able to give me a little advise on how to use this domain to possibly boost traffic or help improve Pr. Other than that I will simply keep it for brand protection purposes.
i would suggest you pint the .co.uk and .com domains to both get the web files from the same folder this way you have 1 set of files that runs both the sites (exactly the same) you will edit one file and both sites will change. you may wish to ask Google to crawl both domains (once you have asked them to do it once they will regally do it)
ok basically when a domain is loaded it will look at a specific file area for the files that make that domain work for example when you want too look at your pictures on your computer you click my pictures so if you put all the domain files into the same folder on your web server you can point both domains too look there. if you can tell me your current web host i should be able to give you a guide on how to do it step by step, alternatively ask your hosts how to access the domain pointing manager and point both domains too look at the folder that contains the web site files
