Hamas vs. Fatah

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by Will.Spencer, Oct 4, 2006.

The Fatah aligned Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is threatening to murder Khaled Meshaal, Saeed Seyam and Youssef al-Zahar because of their responsibility for recent deaths in Palestine. Those three are heavyweights in the current Hamas-led government.

The Al-Aqsa statement reads "We in al-Aqsa announce, with all might and frankness, the ruling of the people in the homeland and in the diaspora, to execute the head of the sedition, Khaled Meshaal, Saeed Seyam and Youssef al-Zahar, and we will execute this ruling so those filthy people can be made an example."

This is all fallout from the election loss of the ridiculously incompetent Fatah party to the murderously violent Hamas party.

But, as with anything in Muslim politics, things are not quite what they seem.

Hamas is being funded by the Syrians. Fatah's membership is angry because they aren't currently being funded by anyone. They were being funded by International aid from the West, but that aid was cut-off when the Hamas-lef government was elected. It seems that even liberal Westerners don't want to directly fund a terrorist group which cannot seem to quit screaming about how much it wants to destroy Israel by force.

Over the last decade of Fatah rule, most civil service jobs have gone to Fatah party loyalists. The Hamas party can't make payroll for the civil service, because that payroll was being paid for by International aid. So, the police are not getting paid and they are striking.

Hamas, on the other hand, doesn't give a damn whether the Fatah-dominated police are getting paid. Why should they?

But, the police were protesting publicly, so Hamas-aligned gunmen from the "interior ministry" started shooting police officers.

So, Fatah now wants to shoot the people responsible for shooting at them.

As a side note: Isn't it funny how we in America are worried about negative campaign ads?

It seems clear that Hamas can not manage to run the country. It seems equally clear that other Muslim nations are completely unwilling to provide the funding necessary for Hamas to succeed. Only Syria is providing any reasonable amount of funds, and most of that goes to graft and terrorism -- not to police salaries.

Because of this, the incompetents in Fatah (the part of Yasser Arafat, one of the most influential terrorists ever to live) will probably win the next election. Let's hope that Fatah performs better in their next attempt.

I doubt that the Palestinians would want to re-elect a party known for its corruption, misappropriation of funds, abuse of power and...yes, large concessions to the Terrorist State without anything given back in return.

I believe they will, because their only other current choice are the terrorists of Hamas. Now that they have seen how poorly Hamas is performing as a ruling party, Fatah seems like an easy winner at the next elections.

That is, if there are elections.

The Israeli's want peace. Fatah seems OK with peace. Hamas refuses to even consider peace. I believe that the Palestinian people, overall, are going to vote for a more peaceful future.

They already know what their choices are.

    Well that claim is nonsensical.

Israel wants peace on her own terms, Fatah wants "peace" by giving huge concessions to the peace deal at the expense of Palestinians and Hamas wants peace but a justified peace, one which does not just favour one side. Ismail Haniyeh, the Prime Minister of Palestine, writes about peace with Israel.

The Palestinians already agreed to peace. Hamas has refused to honor the committments made by the Palestinian government in order to continue to wage a religious war against the Jews.

It's sad. Their desire to murder the Jews is greater than their desire for their people to live in peace and for their nation to thrive.

The one sided commitments agreed to by the previous government against the best wishes of Palestinians. Why do you think they lost?

As for the allegation that this is a "religious" war and that Hamas is bent on nothing but killing of "the Jews", here is what Ismail Haniyeh said with regard to the matter:

I've taken the liberty to bold the statements which I feel are important. Just to show that this is something you conveniently tried to conceal even though the link was provided earlier.

Well not my problem if you refuse to see the Hamas position. Its clear that they are sincere in looking for peace.

If they want peace, their first step should be to stop murdering people.

That would go a long way towards convincing me.

They did, with their Hudna. There has not been a single attack on Israeli soil since.

What a load of crap that is. Hamas declares hudna, gains kudos in the International press, and then goes on murdering people the same as before.

Bahahaha! Finding evidence of Hamas terrorism is like finding evidence that DigitalPoint exists.

Here's what Hamas did just three months after declaring hudna:

Oh btw here is more info from Wikipedia:

And for saying that, both got killed in Israeli strikes. Best way to negotiate "pissss" is to murder the proponents of peace.
