I understand that excessive javascript on a page can hurt ranking with Google, so I was concerned when I put HaloScan.com comments on my home page at http://www.militarynewsnetwork.com. I put the comments on the major news stories, so that readers could comment on stories. I did this last Thursday, and by the weekend my site was down in many rankings at Google. I'm thinking it was the HaloScan which has javascript for each comment (I had eight comments) that caused the tumble. For example, searches for military loans at Google went from the front page to almost the fourth page. I would really like comments on my home page, but not at the expense of rankings. Would like to hear from other webmasters about HaloScan and SEO. Tom MilitaryNewsNetwork.com
