This is an email I received in my inbox today:
They even have the nerve to ask me if I need any further details! :D

I dont get webmasters like that. Do they think everyone owes it to them to get free advertising.

I should reply to them saying something like...

Im glad you find my link directory of interest, perhaps you can link to me instead? But I'll pass on the link.

    Heh :)

Idiots like that get what they deserve though. They send out a ton of emails which would be pretty time consuming and get no response. Then they wonder why...

I've had two different e-mails this week asking for links from Network System Architects, Inc..

The first one said the visited our site and they loved it and they would like to trade links with us because they are also architects. Of course, they are building architects, not network architects.

The second was almost the same, except they wanted to trade links with us because we were in the construction industry.

I got a similar pair that were obviously plucked by an automated search. The first one seemed real till I read it twice, then the second confirmed the contact was automated.

I get so many link exchange requests that I even blogged about them! The best ones are where they don't even realise that we're a direct competitor!

I read a post somewhere bemoaning that people don't reply with a no thanks. So, if they're way off I just delete them but if they are close I reply asking for feed back on my link submission system and why they felt the need to email me rather than just submit.

Strangely, no one has ever got back to me ;)
