I started a website about two months ago http://gamblinganon.blogspot.com and now it is a PR 2. In terms of web developing, is that a normal pace of progression?
sweet, thanks for the input everyone this is my first try, although I read a bunch about SEO before diving into it.
Work on getting at least a few backlinks daily. Think of it like this- If you have only a couple hours of computer time, knock off one item you currently do as habit (chatting, certain forums....), and devote it to creating content and getting backlinks. It takes willpower, but when Google rewards you, it is so sweet....
Cool...Moving up two notch in just two months is considered good. Anyway, I just visited the blog. It seems that there are quite a lot of info in it.
yeah, there is a lot of info on it. I worked everyday searching for articles to rewrite and keyword optimize.
next question, do I have to keep updating my site now, or can I leave it as is and just do the links from now on? Reason is, I'm running out of info to find on gambling. Is it necessary to keep up with the updates for good google search results?
The reason why your blog got a PR2 is most likely because it has been linked to a PR4 webpage somewhere without the nofollow tag. If you losse that link you will lose your pr. It is a great start though. My website got a PR2 in 3 months and I was quite happy. Some people get a PR3 the first rank update but that is as high as it gets for a starter site from what I have observed.
Mine blog of 2 months got PR1. I was very excited to get a page rank but now i am told it does not mean anything
The real thing which matters is the traffic, if you have good traffic, then you can say that your progress is good. Anyway, the PR you got, I reached it in 9 months
Hi all, I'm in a similar situation as martman. I'd really like to hear some thoughts on his question of whether or not he "needs" to continue working on creating content at the rate he has been. If he were to slow down, say by 75%, would this hurt him? It looks like he's added a good amount of content in a short time period. I was under the impression that you should add content on a consistent regular basis. So will it hurt him if he slows down? Congrats on the hard work you've put in and having it show, martman.
